(a) A person who makes a false statement in any application, form, or other statement as described in sections 88.641 to 88.6435 is guilty of a misdemeanor. (b) Except as otherwise provided in this section, a person who violates a provision of sections 88.641 to 88.6435 is guilty of a misdemeanor.
